Every now and then it’s fun to break the rules of headshot photography, and what started as a fun little creative endeavour at the end of headshot sessions with clients quickly led to capturing some of their favourite images from the entire session!

So here’s a little gallery that introduces what I like to call, “The Maverick Special”.

I'm Marcus, the photographer behind Maverick Studios in Edmonton. I started the studio in May 2025 on one belief: you don't need to be photogenic. You just need the right person behind the camera.

Since then I've photographed surgeons, executives, entrepreneurs, and teams of all sizes. On-location or in-studio, usually before anyone's had time to get nervous about it.
