The “Traditional Headshot” is the clean business headshot you can use on your LinkedIn profile and company website. Maverick Mode is an artistic close-up frame with very shallow depth of field, which creates a sense of genuine connection and trust. Have your photos taken on a ‘Light Mode’ or ‘Dark Mode’ backdrop (or do both in the same session).

A studio headshot session at Maverick Studios is $150, and each retouched image you keep is $100. Need only one photo? $250 (+tax). You pay the session fee to book our time together and choose your images after you've seen them.

I started this because of a bad photographer
My wife and I paid a lot of money for our elopement photos in Banff for an awful experience. We left feeling awkward and judged, and she cried when the gallery arrived (and no, these were not, “tears of joy”). Nobody leaves my studio feeling like that.
I'm Marcus Rideout. I've run businesses since 2013. Through Maverick Studios, I've photographed surgeons, executives, entrepreneurs, actors and comedians, students, and teams of all sizes here in the Edmonton area.
I've been published multiple times in the “Business in Edmonton” magazine, and you will get that same ‘magazine level of care’ in your session.

Frequently asked questions
How much do headshots cost at Maverick Studios?

For Individuals: A studio session is $150 (+tax), and you pay per-image that you’d like to buy. Each retouched image is $100. One finished headshot is $250 (+tax). Two is $350 (+tax). Three is $450 (+tax) and so on.
For Team Headshots: Headshots for groups of 5 or more are $195 per person, and include one retouched image per person. A $375 setup fee is required for ‘on-location’ work, when I shoot at your office.
Do I have to decide how many photos I want before the session?

No. You pay the $150 session fee to book, and you choose how many images to buy after you've seen them.
After your photos have been taken you and I will sit at my computer and review all of the images. I'll walk you through a fun "Keep it or Delete it" game so we can narrow your selection down and offer my professional input on what makes an image stand out from the next.
If you’d prefer not to make a snap decision in the studio, or if you’d prefer to have some time to think it over or share with your loved one, I can send you a private link to your gallery so that you can take the time you need to make your final choices.
How long does a headshot session take?

Individual studio sessions can run up to 60 minutes, however if you are a busy executive who is in a rush, I can get you in and out of the appointment within 15-20 minutes.
For teams: It varies depending on the size of your team.
If your team has fewer than 20 people, I can spend a bit more time with each individual, and I recommend around 10-15 minutes per person. If your team is larger than 20, I can get each person's photo in around 5-8 minutes.
I guarantee that the image quality will always be the same, regardless of your team’s size, and if a team member feels like they need a little extra time (or are feeling self-conscious), I will work with them to help navigate their experience without pressuring them or making them feel bad.
How fast will I get my photos?

Final retouched images are delivered within 7 business days of image payment. We do not work on weekends.
What should I wear to my headshot session?

The best clothes for headshots are the ones you feel comfortable in and love. Wear what you typically do if someone were meeting you at an event or work for the first time.
If you wear glasses, bring every pair that you own as some glasses tend to photograph better than others, and swapping out a pair between shots is super easy!
You will have access to a private restroom with a large mirror to try on different clothes and ensure everything looks right before stepping in front of the camera.

Can you photograph our team at our office?

My entire headshot studio is portable, which allows me to work remotely. Coordinating travel for your corporate headshot session to any town or city in Alberta is not difficult or inconvenient.
New hires can come to the studio at a later date and we can match the same look, too!
A $375 (+tax) studio fee is included in a business headshots invoice outside my studio whenever I have to tear down my studio equipment and bring it to you (plus travel and accommodations if out of town).
Do you shoot weddings, family photos or passport photos?

No. I only photograph headshots and portraits, for individuals and for teams. Most pharmacy photo counters handle passport photos.
Are you the same Maverick Studios as the design studio in Saskatoon?

No. Maverick Studios in Edmonton is Marcus Rideout's headshot studio. My business is not listed on Trustpilot; my official reviews are on Google.
